Patrol officers, carrying the burden of maintaining law, order, and discipline are skilled to provide their service under any location and climate. They are experienced in working in the snow, rain, or mud, and, are aware of the world outside. They are not only keeping us safe, but also risking their time, health, and lives to shield us from the unwanted external troubles. • Keeping Awake and Alert: Security sentinels have to work in weird schedules and in the late hours there nothing much to do other than making rounds. In the late hours when the streets become silent, it is natural for one to doze off. To control that, some sensible tips are to follow a proper diet, to create a good sleep schedule, and to exercise. 
  Patrol officers also suggest taking just a pinch of coffee grounds and putting it between the cheek and lower gum, which looks similar to chewing tobacco. Consuming caffeine fosters fast and good actions comparing to drinking a cup of coffee. 

• Handling Frozen Locks: If posted in a cold-weather state, encountering bitter cold, ice, and snow becomes frequent. But questions arise as to what an officer should do when he encounters a frozen lock. Undoubtedly, it can prove to be utterly irritating and frustrating; in addition, if you are stuck outside with your cold and numb fingers, it can lead to added annoyance.
  Patrol officers recommend to carry a lighter along with a piece of newspaper in this case. Stuffing a piece of newspaper in the lock and lighting it eases the melting down of snow.

• Keeping an Eye on Suspicious Objects: The threat of explosions and attacks is escalating day by day. A trained security guard proves to be a bonus when it comes to anticipating such a strike. Bags, briefcases, trolley bags, and such other objects should be checked and scanned to prevent any potential harm. Letting unusual incidents go un-investigated while on duty is a major fault. If anything looks too suspicious, it needs to be examined by professional bodies.
• Examining the Doors: There are many situations when checking on the doors could foresee any unwanted incident. It is advisable to put your palm on the door and feel it before unlocking. If the door appears comparatively hotter, it may suggest an outbreak of fire. Secondly, to open the door in an effortless way, it is always recommended to push and pull it while turning the knob. This push and pull method ensures proper security and safety while checking the other side of the door.
